1. It is so very, very hot today -- but there is a shady gazebo full of friendly people and we need to nothing but watch Bettany playing cricket.
2. On a hot day to mooch around in air-conditioned shops with no particular purchase in mind.
3. Alec shows me his sketchbook. He's been making portraits of the drunks that go up and down our street at night.
