Signing off, attention and a bit girly.

1. The midwives sign me off -- it's a happy occasion and a sad occasion. They tell me that Bettany is beautiful and that I was built to give birth.

1. You don't half get a lot of attention if you walk down the street with a small baby. Everyone smiles at you.

2. 'Sorry,' says the butcher's boy, who has been actually cooing over Bettany, 'They make me go a bit girly.'

  2. They are all lovely comments, especially about the butcher's boy. I'm glad Alec liked the book. Lots of love to you all. (I deleted the first comment by mistake. I was trying to edit it because of spelling mistakes, which I'm sure you would have spotted with your proof reading experiences! Lots of love to you all

    1. I might have spotted it, but I'd have been too polite to mention it!

The butcher's boy is lovely and always makes me smile (all his boys do, actually -- our butcher does a good line in charming staff).
