1. Alec tumbles head first down the ladder from the wooden fort. "It looks like he's saved himself, though," says Katherine. He ends up in a sort of handstand, propped against the ladder. There is no howling.
I hurry over to rescue him.
"Hallo Mummy, what just happened?"
