More sleep, down the hill and ironing.

1. Going back to bed after breakfast.

2. Walking down the drive at Pembury Hospital and seeing between the red brick buildings and Portacabins, a fragment of the view across the Medway valley.

3. Watching TV while Katie does her ironing -- the smell of hot cloth and the gasps of steam are very homey.

  1. Ah, bed after breakfast, to listen to the others organize. Now you just need a cat to curl up under your arm while there.

  2. Clare, I still love your blog so very much - it's a much appreciated dose of Happy in sometimes 'eh' times.

Hope you don't mind, but I tapped you for a Rockin' Girl Blogger. http://denofchaos.blogspot.com/2007/07/do-we-rock-yes-we-do.html.

  3. mmm, going back to bed after breakfast sounds delightful. And I do agree about the sounds/smells of ironing, it reminds me of my great grandmother - As does the smell of laundry which has been dried outside on the line. Ahh, simpler times...

  4. Every once in a while on Sundays, since I was a child, I've snuck off to curl up under the sheets after a full pancake breakfast. Now I do this with my boyfriend of 2.5 years - we love weekend naps. It's enchanting and refreshing.

I love your blog. It reminds me to think about all the small, wonderful things in life. Thank you!
