Girls together, faces at the window and Sussex hills.

1. A mother walking her ten-year-old daughter to school. They were playing a game that involved trying to hit the back of each other's legs and giggling like mad.

2. As I left work at 1pm, seeing the boys pressing their faces against the window to see who I was going out to lunch with. I think they were disappointed that it was just my family.

3. The Mother standing entranced by the view of Sussex fields, hills and woods from the terrace doors of the Mark Cross Inn.

Special mention to Featherhead, 3BTer extraordinaire under trying conditions.

  1. I have heard of Sussex Fields before and recently I believe, hmmmm? Is it beautiful? Albeit it is.

Hope all is well Clare, later...

  2. wow, it's funny how looking for three beautiful things everyday seems to make you more observant, isn't it? :)

It seems that your three things today would not have even been noticed by most people if they weren't paying attention.

    Keep happy, Clare!

  3. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

This is such an inspiration... I'm going to begin one of my own today.

Thank you Clare for adding a little more beauty to the world.

  4. That sounds great! I like that idea. Would you mine sharing some other ideas with me about how to get some people comming to my site someimes? Right now I dont have any feed back and no one is commenting on my site. Can you HELP, PLEASE!???

  5. Clare,

What a lovely idea for a blog - much better than all the moany and draggy ones. I agree about the Sussex hills, I live in them.

  6. thank you for the inspiration.... I have been trying in vain to notice how lovely the world is... this just might help!!

    continue on...

  7. Hi Claire,
Seems as if I'm policing you a lot. (smile) But sometimes I truly wonder. Are you in the UK? Cos if u r, seems u're two hours ahead of the rest of us or is it just me seeing double? its just 7pm and ur post reads it was posted 8.28pm. which isnt due until 90minutes time.

Forgive me. Am supposed to be looking for beautiful things not critical things or criticism.

  8. Calabar Gal -- I write the posts last thing at night, date it for the following day and publish as a draft. I don't bother to change the time, which is why the posts might look as if they come from the future. Now that you mention it, this is a bit strange -- perhaps I will tweak my template a bit more. Thanks for noticing and taking the time to mention it.

Babygurl -- the best advice I can give you is 'Write a good blog, post regularly and have faith. They will come.'

Blu -- When I say Sussex fields, I meant fields that are in Sussex, not a specific place.
I live and work on the border of Kent and Sussex, and much that I love Kent, I think Sussex (and its woods and fields) is more classically beautiful.

Sussex Fields sounds like a place in London... They probably fought duels there, or auctioned sheep, maybe.

  9. What an awesome blog! This is the first time I've run across it, but it is really touching.

    Thank you!

  10. I liked the mother and daughter game story.

  11. Now I am going to have to find out, here we go again, HA! What fun.....

  12. I understand you mother's reaction. It is many years since I have seen the Sussex Downs and I hope one day to return.
Thank you for adding me to the roll of honour and thank you for introducing the 3BTs. Its a joy to read everyday and I joy to look for happiness in my own life.
