Without even trying, culinary and zoology.
I'm away from computers this weekend. Normal service will be resumed on Monday.
1. Calls where users swear blind that they can't log on but when you talk them through it step-by-step, the site opens up as if it has never done anything else.
2. The moussey noise of a soufflé being served.
3. After dinner, Caroline catches sight of my animal dictionary with cries of joy. We look up paradox frogs and bush babies.

Not a mouse soufle, I hope. Nice for cats though!Clare, could you please tell me how to do accents on this blogging system. I have no such problem with Microsoft Word etc? I would be glad of your help. Soufle, without the accent is awful.)

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!
Nice to see positive things. People think I'm nuts for looking forward to fall and winter (in the northeast). Beautiful scenery, even the snowstorms.
ReplyDeleteWhat an original and fun blog - I am hooked.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should mention zoology. An article in our local newspaper, describes a plant zoo, where each plant has an animal name, such a tiger lilly and elephant ears, etc. I'd love to visit, I imagind the foxglove especially pretty
ReplyDeleteYour blog makes me think about the beautiful things of my day. :p
ReplyDeleteDear Clare, I was inspired by your blog and I think it is an excellent way to appreciate the beauty of the simple things and pleasures in life. I would like to add a similar feature in my blog, if you don't mind, and of course I would credit you fully. My blog is in Spanish - El Mundo de Su Xiao-Zhen. Thanks, Susana
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see a person with a positive attitude of life instead of aghasty and full of sadness. I tip my hat off to you, and wish that I may learn from your blog, and your happy ways; enthusiasm towards life. :)
ReplyDeletePlease comment my blog, I would be most grateful.
Nice blog. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAm enjoying your blog - thanks for sharing the beautiful things in your day. I would love to put link on my webpage (don't know how). I did post a blog of your site on my site - put my own three things on my site (hope that is okay with you) but think yours are much more interesting -
ReplyDeleteThanks for the thoughts.

Thank you for the inspiration. I had a particularly joyous moment yesterday, and this was the perfect way to frame it on my blog:). I'll be putting you on my blogroll, for sure!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Sarah
The souffle being served in your new souffle dish, I hope!!
ReplyDeleteHi Clare,
ReplyDeleteHope you never run out of beautiful things to write about!
Take care!
My friend Belinda wrote about your blog in her blog so I made my way over to you. She's right, this is truly a blog of note. ... my gift to you ... three joyous things ...
ReplyDeleteHolding Ruby when she was 5 days old.
The way my dogs head fits into the palm of my hand - like they were made for each other.
Making a teenager laugh when they really don't want to.
Im too lazy to read blogs in english, quite hard sometimes, and prefer to have mine in portuguese. But I have to say that your is great and Ive linked you.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a look at mine and dont understand anything, look at the pictures of my exchange year here in Australia! hahahaha.
My blog is rather dark--many tough things are occurring in my life. I have decided to link to your blog on my site, because I love to come by and be momentarily distracted from my many daily struggles...
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me that there IS a light at the end of my tunnel! You have a very special outlook on life, it has really made an impact on mine.
I'm not sure how I got over here, but it's been fun. Enjoy your weekend away from the computer! I need one of those. Tx.
ReplyDeleteArrived here from 'blogs of note' and so glad i did...have soent a while poking around and reading.
ReplyDeleteWicked idea idea for a blog; will keep checking.
Congratulations on being featured as a "blog of note." Does anyone know how they choose those things? A blogging friend of mine (Nurse Ratched's Place) was blown away when she discovered she was (and still is today) one of them.
ReplyDeleteI am like many of your other commenters, I love the hopefulness of your blog concept. Keep up the good work!

To Love, Honor and Dismay
I was looking through the blogs of note. When I came across yours I spent an hour reading your whole blog. It is really nice when someone with talent shares with us little people.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing,
Paul
is anyone not nice on this blog?
ReplyDeleteLove your blog - it's so positive and that's nice to see in this world! I've linked to you to help spread the word. :-) Look forward to checking your blog in the future.
ReplyDeletejust to steal from the Woodman,,,, Because you NEED a little from the pessimists to keep it bright around here.
ReplyDeleteALVY
(Gesturing)
I've a very pessimistic view of life.
You should know this about me if we're
gonna go out, you know. I-I-I feel that
life is-is divided up into the horrible
and the miserable.
ANNIE
M'hm.
ALVY
Those are the two categories ...
ANNIE
M'hm.
ALVY
... you know, they're- The-the horrible
would be like, uh, I don't know, terminal
cases, you know?
ANNIE
M'hm.
ALVY
And blind people, crippled ...
ANNIE
Yeah.
ALVY
I don't-don't know how they get through
life. It's amazing to me.
ANNIE
M'hm.
ALVY
You know, and the miserable is everyone
else. That's-that's all. So-so when
you go through life you should be thankful
that you're miserable, because that's-
You're very lucky ... to be ...
(Overlapping Annie's laughter)
... to be miserable.
exactly. embrace pessimism. one cannot exist without the other.

The pessimism crew: Pessimism and I are old friends, but we prefer to keep our relationship and Three Beautiful Things separate.
ReplyDeleteAndrew -- I've no idea how it happened. I am an inveterate filler in of online forms, so perhaps I found one that asked if I wanted to be on Blogs of Note.
