Cabbages, prime ministers and rocky roads.

1. There are green and purple cabbages in our veggie box -- almost too beautiful to cook. The bases of the leaves are spring green. Gradually they shade into a deep midnight purple.

2. He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named sometimes shares things in Google Reader. This week, a radio phone-in prank about Gordon Brown made me laugh.

3. Nick brings home a pair of rocky roads from the Hummingbird Bakery. They are more like rocky mountains, actually -- we finish up like a pair of toddlers with chocolate all over our faces.

  1. does your aunt still make beautiful cakes?

  2. We haven't had one since the wedding -- but I'm looking forward to seeing her at Easter, and perhaps she'll bring one down to help us celebrate.

Rosey is coming home, too -- she made the insides of our wedding cake. I'm going to see if she'll share some of her recipes with me.

  3. I have a wonderful mental image of you grinning with chocolate-ness all over your face. Thank you :)

  4. Chocolate does bring out the child in a person, which is one of the reasons chocolate is such a treat.

Also the post title "Cabbages, prime ministers..." has for me an association with "cabbages and kings", and I think of Alice in Wonderland.

  5. If you don't eat your cabbage, please don't let them grow into flowering decorative plants like I see everywhere. I don't understand cabbage florals.

Otherwise I love all the 3BT you see!!
