Roman gumshoe, child alone and complete.

1. Starting a Falco novel and thinking that I'm going to have a lot of fun reading it.

2. In between typing, I watch a small boy playing by himself in the garden opposite.

3. Coming to the end of the day and feeling that I have done good work today.

  1. Isn't that a lovely feeling - feeling that you have put in a honest day's work and earned the night's rest?

Hey btw, the roll of honour was updated on 21st JAN, wasn't it? Not November...

  2. Don't trip over any old fish pickle jars on the way to work tomorrow! I love Falco novels but haven't read anything recent - have he and Helena Justina tied the knot yet?

PS the word verification thingy has come up with lots of v's, c's and i's which looks like a Roman number, hee hee.

  3. all food edition:

    1. enjoying - nay, relishing - a meal you weren't too keen on making in the first place.

    2. we had a bottle of ethiopian honey wine - one of those things you buy because it sounds interesting but then you don't know what to do with. we drank it with crackers and a fig-paste goat cheese spread. it was excellent.

    3. roasted brussels sprouts. they're just the most underappreciated vegetable ever, IMHO.
